We're determined to have nothing but the best on NGM...great artists and great music, so we offer some of the best up and coming stars anywhere on the planet! We want you to know that you can count on this every time you visit, so stop by often.
Visiting NewGrooveMusic.com is a great way to make sure that artists get paid. Just stop by the website...that's all you have to do. While you're there, feel free to download as many songs as you want, as often as you want. Every song on NGM is free and the only thing better than free music is free music that you can share with your friends, so be sure to tell them...that's what makes it work! To make it even easier to share, there is a form that you can use on the site to send a link to a friend. However, we understand that some fans don't feel comfortable using forms. No problem ... we get it! The form is just for your convenience. What matters is that you tell your friends...send an email, send a text or just talk to them about your great find!

Stars Go Dim is Giving Away an Autographed Guitar

Stars Go Dim is looking for more friends on their Facebook fan page and they're having a contest to get those numbers up there faster! The band has 13,000 fans now and wants 20,000 by May 10th. To help them out (and get a chance at winning an autographed guitar in the process), go to their fan page and become a fan. Invite all of your friends and then post on their page how many you invited. Once they reach the 20,000 mark, they'll have a random drawing for the guitar!
In other Stars Go Dim news, the band has released an app for your iPhone, iPad or iTouch that lets you take them with you everywhere you go. Download the app for free and you can watch the latest SGD videos, browse photos, sample the latest music, read their blog and latest news, find out about concerts near you, engage with fans across Facebook and iLike, play games, and more.

Sturgeon Goes 'In the Darkness'

LA-based hard rockers, Sturgeon, have hit the horror scene again with "Fruit Of All Evil" being included in the Mattoid Entertainment film, In the Darkness.
In the Darkness is not Sturgeon's first trip into horror-film land. Last year the band was honored when four of their songs were included in Canal Street Films' Maneater.
The band is currently planning a 4-6 song EP and a video based around their trip to Area 51. Stay tuned for more news on these new projects.
A New Video and a New Single for Amanda Baker

Amanda Baker has just finished shooting a music video for her upcoming single, "The Fool," a heart felt relationship ballad. Having recently gone through a line-up change, Amanda and her co-writer Luke Bourne have been busy writing with the new band and are due to hit the live scene in coming months.

"The Internet has essentially redefined how music is distributed, making it possible for a diverse range of Indie artists to even further reach the masses across the globe," said NGM Founder, Mike Wieber. To date, NGM currently features over 30 artists across 35 genres and anticipates growing its roster to 150 artists by summer 2010. Newly signed artists include:
Alyse Black. Alyse Black's vocal-based indie-pop is frequently compared to the ridiculously playful Regina Spektor, the spacious, anything-goes Björk, and the soft and throbbing Norah Jones. From sultry and whispering to powerful and gripping, Alyse embodies the red-headed siren singer-songwriter. Genre: Acoustic, Alternative, Pop.
Annie Minogue Band. Traditionally known as a writer and performer deeply rooted in the New York music scene, spring 2010 will bring more than just the warm weather to the career of Annie Minogue and The Annie Minogue Band. Annie just signed with Fontana/Universal Records and a new CD is in the works along with upcoming tour dates. She was also just featured in American Songwriter Magazine as one of the best new songwriters of 2010. Beginning in March, Annie will be making regular appearances in Nashville, TN, and Los Angeles, CA to take part in several writing sessions managed by some of the most successful writers and composers in town. Further to her placements on CBS, Lifetime Television, MTV, Sony Television, TV Guide Channel, CW Network, and the WB Network, Lionsgate recently requested Annie's material for use in upcoming films, as has VH1 for upcoming shows. Genre: Rock, Pop, Blues.
Chris Smith. To date, Chris has released four albums. His most recent, "Let The Ball Roll", was released on June 30, 2009. "Back To You" was released in 2006, "Real Thing" in 2004 and his debut "Room Inside My Heart" in 1995. In the company of such successful artists as Michael Bublé and Diana Krall, Chris has been nominated for ten Canadian Smooth Jazz Awards including Best Album, Best Song, Best Male Vocalist, and most recently Artist of the Year. Genre: Pop, Jazz, World.
FeelAbouT. FeelAbouT Is all about feeling and expressing by writing, playing and singing it out. Feeding on the everyday experience and letting it out, FeelAbouT is the first Israeli band to have ever take part in the prestigious "17th Los Angeles Music Awards" and to have won the title Best Rock Band of the Year. Last summer "Follow Me Down" got over 10,000 downloads at Myxer.com. A few months later "Small Mind" won the first place in Hard Rock Videos clip on OurStage. Genre: Rock, Alternative, Metal.
Ginger Leigh. Ginger Leigh is as equally loved as misunderstood. Some blindly consider her an emergent Melissa Etheridge type as her on-stage energy is quite similar in strength, but Ginger is more of a chanteuse-like female Elvis who appeals to both men and women, young and old. Ginger's strongest message is about living outside of the box. Her uniqueness lies in her ability to see and live beyond the status quo. She manages to deliver this message with contemporary, powerful, up-beat rhythms and melodies that come from her varied background in jazz, country, R&B, and a family of five generations of professional musicians. Her career was kick-started as the lead-singer in her first professional performing band at the age of 9. Genre: R&B, Soul, Pop.
Everlife. Three sisters raised on 60's and 70's rock n' roll stood together in 1997 to make a musical promise that would determine their future to become a relevant, popular music act. Wading the waters of the music business as teenagers allowed Julia, Sarah and Amber to reach a business and musical maturity beyond their current years. With successful stops at SHELTERecords and Disney's Buena Vista Records, this pop rock threesome had the amazing opportunity to contribute to 12 Disney Compilations, release two albums and perform for millions of fans while on tour with Disney teen superstars The Cheetah Girls and Miley Cyrus. Jeff Jewkes. Jeff is an award-winning singer/songwriter /multi-instrumentalist whose music blends rich elements of Indie, Alternative and Acoustic genres. His silky baritenor voice hovers over the seasoned compositions like timeless balladry. Coupled with deep thinking, well-founded, clever lyrics Jeff's songs ring out as uniquely distinctive and instantly identifiable works of art. Marina V. Russian-born, Los Angeles-based Marina V (Verenikina) is a singer/songwriter with an incredible life story. Singing in English and in Russian, Marina's music is a beautiful melodic piano-based Alt Pop/Rock influenced by the Beatles, Tchaikovsky & Tori Amos. L.A. Times calls her music "hauntingly beautiful," and the Prague Post praises Marina for having "the voice of an angel." Having performed over 500 shows from New York and London to Paris and Moscow, from clubs to venues like the world-famous Kodak Theatre in Hollywood, Marina is currently touring in support of her new album "Unbalanced". Shay Dillion. Shay Dillon, the 2007 International Award winner for Best R&B/Soul Album and Best R&B/Soul Female Artist through Toronto Exclusive Online Awards and the 2006 International Award winner for the Best Female Solo Artist from the Music Aid International Music Awards, conveys not only a soulful and passionate delivery but it is one backed by classic songwriting skills and expertise. Fans and critics alike are enthralled by Shay's earthy, raw mix of Blues, Soul and R&B. Her effortless segues from sweet soulful sounds to a powerful earth shaking belt are evidence of the command Shay has over her craft and her delivery. Her songs evoke emotion in the listener. Stars Go Dim. Started as a side project among friends, Tulsa, OK-based Stars Go Dim quickly found a following on the Internet before the first songs were actually recorded via video blogs. Upon the release of their EP in 2008, the group started getting tons of regional and national press. Winning some of the biggest song writing contests in the world didn't hurt. After forming in late 2007, Stars Go Dim witnessed a string of success by opening for John Mayer, Billy Joel, Switchfoot, Daughtry, and Graham Colton, and shared the stage with Paramore, The All-American Rejects, and The Roots. Stars Go Dim took the musical crown in a series of contests for rock and pop compositions, as well as vocalist and songwriting categories nationwide with the most prominent being Country Music Television's Listener's Choice Award. Wendy Colonna. Award-winning musician and songwriter, Wendy' Colonna's music is a savory gumbo of soul, poetry and groove. With a smoky voice and poetic lyricism born of her rich Gulf Coast heritage, she stirs up an eclectic mix of stylistic ingredients creating a delicious musical experience for listeners.
