Meet Christopher Ames
Christopher Ames uses his music to get to the heart of our faith and to tell the story of his journey thus far. He's a simple guy. An earthly guy. A loving husband. A dad... But when he's performing the music that comes from the depths of his soul you truly see the light that shines brightest in his heart. With over 20 years experience as a full-time music journeyman, Christopher Ames has been cutting through the issues that can divide and distract us. Whether we come as a prodigal, a seeker, or with the faith of a child? his music will call us to consider that there is always light to get us through our weakest moments.
Christopher Ames is no stranger to studio recording either. His 2004 CD titled BELIEVING BEYOND THE SHADOWS garnered critical acclaim and spawned several Top 10 singles that hit on both Christian and Country radio. After this CD released he went on to receive a KCCM Award (Kansas City Christian Music Award) for Acoustic Artist of the Year and in 2006 took home 2 more awards-this time for Songwriter of the Year and ARTIST OF THE YEAR. Collectively Christopher has earned 7 KCCM Awards recognizing his achievements in artistry.
In 2006 Christopher Ames released an instrumental CD titled TAKE IT IN. This CD featured both original songs and hymns. It caught the attention of both industry and retail professionals, and for his work he was awarded the 2007 MOMENTUM AWARD for Instrumental Artist of the Year presented in Nashville, TN. Many venues are often looking for instrumental (guitar based) background music. Christopher's acoustic instrumental performance is perfect for restaurants, retail stores, medical offices, spas and more. Christopher's instrumental music has been used as background music on talk radio, commercials and many business websites.
In 2008 Christopher Ames released his 5th album on the Remnant Music Group label. This CD generated serious buzz as it focuses on the journey of life and love in marriage. The album is a departure from his traditional acoustic style and is more pop/rock oriented which appeals to a broad audience. His first single, CHAMPION was released to 1500 Christian Radio Stations through a partnership with CRW but this record is filled with music for the Mainstream/Secular market. There's been tremendous feedback for his song titled PICTURES OF US by the AC market and ALL AGAIN is being played on Country stations world wide. A nomination for POP Album of the Year by the Syracuse Area Music Awards, a nomination for best Adult Contemporary song (LINGER) at the 2008 ISSA (Independent Singer Songwriter Awards) and 2 honorable mentions in the 2008 Song Door International Songwriting Competition are all results of his efforts. In addition, Christopher has licensed music from this CD to a variety of outlets.
In 2009, Christopher Ames brought yet another song to radio with an original Christmas tune called LEAD US INTO CHRISTMAS DAY found on his EP with the same name. Through partnerships with Airplay Access and AirplayDirect, the song was introduced worldwide to AC/Hot AC, Country and Christian radio. Radio stations across the USA, as well as countries including Italy, Germany, Portugal, Australia and more, added it to their play lists. The song has a Beatle-esque feel to it, but continues to offer that message of HOPE that Christopher Ames is so good at focusing on.
In addition to his music, Christopher Ames is an advocate for Eating Disorder Awareness and supports numerous organizations and ministries who focus on physical and emotional healing.
