The back bone of this fish is Gerry Porter on drums and Paul Jones on bass, who execute their sonic boom fiercely, loudly and intelligently. Kent Brisley and Chris Wieber cast their guitars into the Sea of Music and reel in a plethora of finely tuned harmonic tune-ahs. At the helm of this fishing boat is Randy Reeman, constantly exhorting his vocals to rip through the speakers of your stereo and demand attention. The Darker Sequence has a fine balance of grooving catchy licks interspersed with exotic and sometimes surreal guitar solos. The vocals are loud and appropriately smooth when necessary. This guitar heavy record is the kind of caviar that most metal enthusiasts dream about.
